Things start going to shit almost immediately.

Heisenberg expected certain things from the "apprintances" when he appeared before them. Lots of yelling, questions. Some sniveling and bartering. And eventually one of them would work up the balls to attack him. He would put them down and establish a pecking order- not really any different than a pack of Lycan, only even more obnoxious.

So yeah, things started like that. But before a decent question and answer really got going one of the so-called students shoved his way from the crowd with clear intent to Start Shit.

"You have two options: free us now and I will let you choose how you die. Hold fast and I will make sure you suffer every moment of it when I tear your head from your shoulders."

The guy was big, but not the biggest (that was the fucking STATUE) and not the blondest (that was the bitchy princess). He wasn't even the biggest-and-blondest in combination (that was the very bored looking giant. Though this seemed to finally get his attention). But he was big and he was blonde. But more noteworthy were two things: he had one eye, and he was wearing goddamned  full-plate . The one eye was enough for him to mentally pull up the dossiers of the apprentices. He hadn't bothered with names yet, but a general idea of who was who and what powers they had was all he needed to bait them and settle any attacks. Big one eyed fucker. The one with super strength. Noted. Not that it mattered since the asshole was covered neck to dick in metal.

So the "Alchemist" spread his arms in a "bring it on" gesture, all easy confidence. "Alright then big guy. Show me what you can do!"

The big guy (he heard the small black haired catty guy behind the blonde yell: "Damn it, boar!" with a tone that implied a Proper Noun. He filed that away too) paused at the show of bravado, his eyes glinting with fever heat and his face twisting into a feral grin that showed off plenty of pearly whites.

Oh. So not just big and blonde but also stupid and crazy.

That was fine, he had experince with Blonde, Stupid and Crazy by now, and he sure as fuck wasn't getting caught flat-footed again.

Sept of the Guiding Light

Rank 2

Type: Healing

Tribes: Predominately Children of Gaia, Bonegnawers and Glass Walkers

Totem: North Star

Type: Respect

  • Brood: Owl

  • Totem Background Cost: 5

  • Description: The long wanderings of the Silent Strider tribe have ingratiated them to this glimmering Incarna of the heavens. Now she sends her spirit avatars to Strider packs to help guide them on their paths.

  • Benefits: As long as the stars are visible in the sky (i.e., it's night and the weather is not overcast) and you're in the Northern Hemisphere, you gain the Abilities Area Knowledge x2 and Survival x2.

  • Ban: Travel often, accepting all worthy quests and message-bearing duties.

The Sept honors North Star by it’s constantly rotating members and teaching survival skills, navigation and the ways of Gaia to the humans in their Protectorate.

The Sept of the Guiding Light was not always called as such- and it was not always held by the Children of Gaia. In fact, it was once a Croatoan caeren that was lost when the tribe sacrificed itself to bind the Wyrm. The Children took it over when it was rediscovered.

Over the generations the surrounding coastal cities began to push closer- and rather than push back the Sept decided to integrate the location, hiding it in plain sight as a camp ground. The members of the Sept thin and bloat as the tourism seasons come and go, and because of this the population has become much more varied then just the CoG.

Children of Gaia: The Children have held this place since  the beginning of the country, the caern small enough that the more war-like tribes have largely ignored it. The Children focus largely on protecting children, integrating urban and wild areas, and doing what they can to prevent over fishing in the near by city.

Glass Walkers: The Glasswalkers are a rather new regular addition of the Sept. As the near by towns have grown into full cities they have slowly made themselves too valuable to the CoG elders to deny. Rumor has it they are trying to create a new caern in the near by city for themselves, but so far they haven’t managed to succeed. Even so, the Glasswalkers do their part to keep the Caern running- most of those that deal with the human population such as the Warden are Glasswalkers.

Bone Gnawers: The BG population of the caern is rather small but they have been here for longer then the Glasswalkers- the formerly small town of Canterdale was built on the backs of Bonegnawer kin fishermen, sailors and workers. Most of the BG’s live in Canterdale with their kin, and only use the caern when required. There are also a small population of Hillfolk Bonegnawers that came down from the Catskill Mountains long ago and take the farm folk further west as their kin. Those few BG packs that live in the Sept full time usually are very well integrated and are mostly focused on fighting Wyrm spawn the CoG miss while focusing on the human visitors.

Black Furies: The population of BFs in the Sept are even smaller, limited to a single integrated pack that focuses on the young scouts that often visit the bawn. Though they are not Furies in the literal sense there are also a decent population of male Fury-born CoG and metis in the caern and the Sept have good relations with the tribe.

Silent Striders: While only one Strider currently lives in the caern full time there’s always one or two in the Sept at any time to honor North Star on their way to other places in the State.

Uktena and Wendigo: Due to the caeren once being claimed by Middle brother, the other two Pure tribes often have a few visiting packs to commune with their lost siblings. This is how the moon bridge to Canada was formed.

Other than Red Talons all other tribes usually have some small population in the Sept that comes and goes.

1) What name would you like to go by, and what are your pronouns?

2) What is your time zone?

3) What time of day would be easiest for you to game on Sundays?

4) Would you prefer short but more often games: (3 sessions or more a month, only a few hours long) or longer games less often (2 sessions a month, as long as we wanna go)?

5) Are there any topics you want avoided in plot/backstories/conversation? Are there things you don’t mind being brought up but want to stay vague? Do you have any phobias that might come up such as spiders or mind control?

6) Werewolf can be a very brutal game. If the campaign was a movie, what rating max would you be comfortable with regarding violence and sexual situations? (G/PG/ 13/ R)

Pick all that apply, listed in order of importance to you!

7) What is most fun to me in games:

a) I like the glorious thrill of battle! I want to have plenty of chances to use my powers and weapons and end up on top!

b) I like social scenes and dealing with fleshed out NPCs. I want to tell a story and if that means going a few sessions without combat that’s fine with me!

c) I like puzzles and mysteries- competing against the ST in a battle of wits is exciting to me!

8) When it comes to settings I enjoy:

a) A small but very detailed home location that my character returns to with few NPCs that will develop over time. My actions will hurt or benefit this area directly.

b) Traveling to various exciting places for adventure. NPCs will usually only appear for a few sessions. My actions with hurt or benefit the wider world but be less personal.

9) I also prefer:

a) Urban settings were my beast nature will have to be hidden to avoid exposing the Garou to humanity. (More focus on humans as allies. Living in a city and fighting corruption. Having to cover up Garou activity. Vampires and other urban enemies)

b) Rural settings were I will have to balance my wolf side with the humans that live near-by. (Focus on a mix of dealing with humans while still able to experience more primal stories.)

c) Wilderness settings were I can let my animal side run wild without worry of humans except for as enemies. (Focus on protecting the wilderness or caerens, enemies will be more beastal and more time would be spent in wolf forms)

10) Anything else you are really interested in exploring in the setting or really like doing in tabletop games in general?

The Boss Fight/Final Confrontation Meme

Something something, gonna have a bad time, etc

So it's come down to this: Maybe you've always been foes. Maybe you used to be allies. Hell, maybe you've never met face to face. But regardless- this person is all that stands between you and your goals, your happy ending or maybe even your most precious person. There's no going back, a confrontation is immanent.

Everyone's wanted to have an IC excuse be the big bad guy, to flex all their powers with no hesitation. To be the Final Boss! This is your chance to go nuts and unleash your inner badass.

Of course not all battles are violent. Undertale Many games have battles of a different sort: maybe you're the Mastermind behind a Dangan Ronpa style trial and your mystery has to be solved or everyone dies? Or maybe your enemy is a rival Pokemon Trainer? The point is that you can't end this without SOME kind of clash of wills.

Good Luck.

Guidelines:

- Any AUs, settings, or set ups are allowed! Use your characters' canon powers or make new ones out of whole cloth. Feel free to twist your characters motivations a little if they just aren't the Big Bad type... or just tag others as the Hero. What's a game without a Protagonist, after all?

- Regardless, remember the Golden Rule. Pulling out powers that might upset someone or godmode is no fun. When in doubt, ask!

- Top Levels are the Big Bad! If you don't have a character that you can fit into such a role it's fine, but ONLY TAG INTO TOP LEVELS. Don't throw up a top level looking for villains to come to you. Remember: regardless of the meme's over the top wording, the antagonist is not always a bad person, they are just someone with opposing goals.

- While it's not required, a little blurb about what scenarios you are most interested or even an idea of your abilities might be helpful!

- ... Boss Battle music is also not required, but encouraged.

Character Information

Name: Murphy Pendleton
Age: 30's
Fandom: Silent Hill: Downpour
Appearance:  http://images.wikia.com/silent/images/d/df/Murphypendletonnew.png
History: http://silenthill.wikia.com/wiki/Murphy_Pendleton
Canon Point: Post game, ending 'B'

Personality: Before his son's death Murphy was a generally good guy. His parol information states that he is a model prisoner, and NPCs refer to him as 'better then this place'. He's a little quiet and can occasionally have a temper, but he's what you would consider a good natured suburban father.

Then, his son Charlie dies. Not only dies, but is killed in the most horrible way. This event changes Murphy, not helped by the fact that he sees the police pull his son's body from the lake, and is blamed for the death by his wife- who leaves him. Murphy is traumatized beyond meassure, and becomes obcessed with one goal- revenge. Othersides of Murphy's personality appear. He is dedicated, maticulous and worst of all can be ice cold when he has to be. He hotwires a police car and goes for a state wide joy ride just so he can get arrested and sent to the prison his son's killer is kept at- then makes a 'deal with the devil' to get access to him. And when the time comes, his vengance is brutal.

But it's a heavy point to make that, even after all of that, he's unable to kill the man (though considering the damage he did he might have died regardless) and later on, when called upon to kill someone else to pay back the guard who helped him... he outright refuses to do so. Murphy can be cold... but he is not heartless.

In fact one could say he's exactly the reverse. Though out his stay in Silent Hill he shows little glimpses of a soft hearted man. He scatters the ashes of a dead couple to put them to rest, sets birds free from cages where they'd slowly starve, and even spares the life of the woman trying to kill him not once, but twice. And while his temper understandably flares when faced with the weirdness of the town, he generally stays on the 'right' side of things. Over the course of his journey he comes to understand the futility of revenge and his own guilt over Charlie's death, and the pointlessness of the deaths he has caused. He's grown as a person, and found a way to move on, now 'free' not only from his cell, but from his own pain.

Game Specific

Suitability: Murphy has already seen *much* worse then Santa Destroy. Not only that, but he spent his stay in Silent Hill fighting for his life. One can also assume he fought at least a few times in prison- he can certainly defend himself and will fight to the death if he thinks he has to.

Weapon: The Bogeyman's Sledgehammer. This weapon looks like a huge oversized hammer made up of a nearly 5 foot long wooden handle attached to a cinder block. It has no lasers or anything like that, and in fact is so heavy that it's user is slow as all hell.
BUT it does have a benifit. When it's being used the user's adrinaline and stamina are greatly increased. In video game terms- HUGE HEATH BAR so while Murphy is slow, he can take huge amounts of damage before going down.

Samples

Log/Third Person Sample: Santa Destroy was, on the surface, quite a bit different then Silent Hill. Sunny and hot instead of foggy and heavy with bone chilling cold. Clear blue skies instead of a constant rainfall that made him think of lakes and soggy three foot tall bags in row boats.

Not to mention the things out to kill you lacked the eyeless faces and claws and instead tried to makes friends before ripping into your back.

But really, it was all the same. He couldn't leave, though god help him he tried. Getting turned around just as easily as he did against endless pits. It was just easier to get distracted here. He could work or socialize or watch stupid movies and try to forget. At least until he saw some young woman or child die over and over again on the tiny video game system they gave him (Charlie had one like this. It was a little bulkier and had only one screen but he knew Nintendo when he saw it. Charlie had loved the game where you collected little critters most, and everytime he saw this one he wanted to die a little) and he remembered how much life liked to fuck him.

He looked down at his hands, glaring at the black grit under his nails that was actually just oil and grease from the truck he had been working on but that he kept wanting to see as blood. "What the hell do you WANT from me...?"

His hands or the city or God or anyone... none answered, and he just shook his head with a small grumble of annoyance, buring his hands back in the engine he was taking apart. The honest work was the only thing that stopped him from thinking even for a little while. It was that or checking the handheld and being tempted to talk to the people here... more people he couldn't help.

It was just the same thing over and over.

Journal Entry/First Person Sample:

[The screen comes on to a worn and battered man sitting on the sidewalk, looking at the huge box in his lap]

What the hell..! No, no I was OUT, damn it, you can't DO this to me!

[He glares at the screen, looking torn and hurt by it's very existance.]

I get it, I fucked up, but a change of scenery isn't going to... damn it why the hell am I talking like someone will answer. [He reaches over to the box opening it... and then goes ghostly pale]

IS THIS SOME SICK JOKE?!

[He flips the box off his lap, and the viewers can see a huge sledge hammer before he reaches over and shuts the DS off]
